To obtain this pass, the relatives must provide several essential documents, such as the death certificate issued by the local authorities, a certificate of non-contagion and embalming, and an authorisation to transport the body. Once these formalities have been completed, the consular service issues the pass, often in cooperation with the funeral agency appointed by the family to handle the repatriation arrangements.
