Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Senegal to the State of Qatar
H.E. Mr. Cheikh Tidiane SALL heads Senegal's diplomatic mission to the State of Qatar. He represents the Head of State and the Government of the Republic of Senegal, and leads the Embassy's work in service of the Senegalese community and the strengthening of bilateral relations.
Our missions
In accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the Embassy of Senegal in Qatar carries out the following missions:
Diplomatic representation
Representing the Republic of Senegal and its Government to the State of Qatar and to international organizations based in Doha.
Protection of Senegalese interests
Protecting the interests of Senegal and of Senegalese nationals living in Qatar, in accordance with international law and the Vienna Convention.
Consular assistance
Issuing administrative and travel documents (passports, visas, consular cards, legalizations) and assisting nationals with their procedures.
Economic promotion
Promoting investment opportunities and trade between Senegal and Qatar, and supporting economic actors from both countries.
History
The Republic of Senegal, independent since April 4, 1960, chose early on an active diplomacy and an openness to dialogue between peoples, founded on the principles of the United Nations Charter and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The Embassy of Senegal in Qatar was established to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, building on the diplomatic relations established between Dakar and Doha. It has since become the institutional anchor for Senegalese nationals in Qatar and a vehicle for closer ties between the two nations.
Over the years, relations between Senegal and Qatar have diversified, covering economic, cultural and development cooperation fields, through official visits and bilateral agreements.
Organization of services
The Embassy is organized into several services, each placed under the Ambassador's authority.
Political, Economic and Cultural Section
Follows bilateral relations, economic cooperation and cultural exchanges between Senegal and Qatar.
