DAKAR 2026 YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

As the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) approach, scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 13, Qatar is strengthening its support for Senegal by providing 15 buses and security equipment.

This contribution aims to support preparations for this historic event, which will make Senegal the first African country to host an Olympic competition.

Through this initiative, Qatar seeks to share the experience it gained from hosting major international sporting events, notably the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

“Qatar and Senegal enjoy strong and longstanding relations. We are pleased to support Senegal in its preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, a historic event for African sport,” said H.E. Youssef Shaban Ibrahim Al Sada, Ambassador of Qatar to Senegal.

The diplomat also emphasized that sharing sports expertise contributes to bringing nations closer together and strengthening cooperation between them.

Through this logistical and security support, Doha is reaffirming its commitment to strengthening its relations with Dakar and contributing to the success of this major event for youth and African sport.
